Coronavirus (covid-19): As a measure to prevent the spread of the virus, Seychelles has, with effect from March 18, introduced a ban on foreigners arriving from Europe. These will be expelled on arrival. Persons who are citizens of Seychelles and who arrive after travel from China, Iran, South Korea, Europe and other places with widespread infection will be subject to a 14-day quarantine.

Coronavirus (covid-19): Seychelles have reported a small number of cases of infection. The authorities have taken preventive measures, including entry bans for foreigners arriving from Europe, quarantine for 14 days for anyone arriving from Europe, China, Iran, South Korea or other countries with widespread infection. There has also been a ban on cruise ship calls and travel bans to China, Iran, South Korea and Europe. Norwegian travelers should keep abreast of the development of the corona virus. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not create travel advice because of the risk of infection. It is the Public Health Institute that provides infection protection advice when traveling. Practical information

All Norwegians traveling to countries outside Europe and North America are recommended to register with the Foreign Service. This also applies to Norwegian citizens who stay in Seychelles for a long period. Voluntary registration for Norwegians during foreign stays is done at reiseregistrering.no.

It might make sense to have a copy of your passport on the trip. Should you be unlucky to be stolen or lose all your identification documents, a copy of the passport could serve as identification for any emergency passport issuance. Scan the page that contains the personal information in the passport and send it to your own email. Then you always have a copy available.

Currency – seychellois rupee.

Visa and Mastercard as well as some other international credit cards are accepted. ATMs are available in the cities, and most hotels, restaurants as well as major grocery/business accept credit cards.

The Seychelles are two hours ahead of Norway during summer, and three hours ahead of winter.

Languages: Creole, English and French are the official languages.

There is no Norwegian foreign service station in Seychelles. There is a Norwegian consulate.
