Yemen Travel Information

Since 2015, a Saudi-led military coalition has been fighting against Houthi rebels in control of parts of the country. Conditions for the civilian population are characterized by war-torn Yemen being one of the biggest humanitarian disasters in the world (hunger, diseases, food shortages, water, medicines, other emergencies and all other goods) and by the weakening of the state apparatus in the country. The security situation is very difficult in many areas.

Other information

The Norwegian Travel Council discourages all travel to Yemen and encourages all Norwegian citizens to leave the country. In order to prevent the spread of the corona virus, all transport in and out of the country (via air, boat or car / road) has been stopped, except for aircraft with humanitarian aid. The situation in the country as of April 2020 is even more unclear than before due to the handling of the coronavirus.

This also means that the Ministry does not have travel information for Yemen as for other countries. The ongoing war has meant that neither the embassy nor others have been able to regularly enter and provide information to provide common health, safety or other advice. According to countryaah, Yemen is one of countries starting with letter Y.
