Transporting Fishing Rods

Our fishing trips today lead us to more varied destinations, from lakes to catch-and-release close to our cities, until the fishing lodges in the middle of the jungle, just reached by plane or by 4 x 4 drive. To face the leaps that these shifts cause in our equipment and protect our investment in junk, reaching destinations with everything working properly, we have to package reels, fishing reels and fishing rods in order to give them maximum protection.
We should pay special attention to our fishing rods, since they are relatively fragile, especially the carbon or graphite, either by your own structure (blank), but also with respect to the finials and dowels. Trips to distant and isolated destinations, in fisheries for five or more days, require us to take sticks of various sizes, from mild to heavy, for the various fishing situations. Thus, it is common for us to take us five or more sticks, which must be packed safely for shipping.

The safest way to transport the rods is in PVC pipes, which can assemble with ease with the tubes found in building materials, or buy them in stores, ready and coated fabric, with handle for easy transport. There is even some tubes, like the Plan brand, which have adjustable dimension, and can accommodate rods up to seven feet (2.20 m). However, PVC coated products are much cheaper, and this is an investment that pays off for the protection it offers. The most used are the tubes of two metres, diameter 75 mm or 100 mm.
We should get two pieces of more dense polyurethane foam, cut into a circle with a diameter slightly greater than the pipe diameter, and about 4 cm thick, to be placed at the bottom and the lid of the tube, in order to protect the tips of the sticks. The Poles should be placed in the tubes previously stuck with each other, so that come in all at once and not stay loose, rattling inside the tube. For this, we can use other pieces of polyurethane, attached with duct tape at both ends and in the middle of the sticks, or that packing, bubble wrapped and secured with tape in these locations.

With the implementation of this protection, the rods will be more fair in the tube. The procedure of holding the sticks each other also putting more rods in the tube, for example, if we’re going to carry six sticks, we can arrest them being three in one direction, and the other three in the opposite direction. It also helps in protecting Finials, because we can do the mooring cables leaving slightly designed in relation to the same.
With the rods well protected, we devote ourselves to the fishery, which is really the best part of all this …
