In commemoration of Children’s Day, this Sunday will open cycle paths for children in the Américo Renné Gianetti Municipal Park, in the Center. There are two lanes for children up to 12 years old who use bikes with rings 12, 14 and 16.
A bicycle lane will be located near the Largo do Sol, around the Playground, and the other one above Lake of the Marrecos. The main interventions foreseen are the implementation of horizontal and vertical signaling (painting on the ground and plates), the execution of cut and recess in the sidewalks and recomposition of existing walk. The tracks were designed considering the routes that caused less impact to the environment, did not restrict pedestrian access to any part of the park and offered the best safety conditions for use by children up to 12 years old.
The cycle paths of the Municipal Park are part of the Pedala BH program, which encourages the use of the bicycle and is implanting a network of bicycle paths in Belo Horizonte that will be integrated over time. Belo Horizonte has 70.42 kilometers of bicycle paths and, by the end of the year, the City Hall intends to reach the goal of 100 kilometers.
